We have been asked to bring some dancers to perform at the lovely Abbotsley Fete again this year! This will have been the 4th year we’ve done it – although sadly last year was rained off.
It’s a really lovely event, where the children dance on a performance area set up ‘in the round’ in the playing field in the village of Abbotsley, PE19 6XH. They dance on grass, surrounded by an audience sitting on bales of hay! Afterwards, parents and children all enjoy the fete, with games, playground, music, ice-creams, tea and cake, and Pimms! It is a lovely end to our school year.
This year, we have lots of dances, and costumes, all ready to perform, which we have just done in our show! Parents should please let me know, by 15th June, if your child can take part in this.
This is of course a good performance opportunity for children who couldn’t take part in the big show last week. I’m sure we can sort out costumes for them!
Once I know who’s taking part, I’ll decide which dances we’ll do. I may call everyone to one brief rehearsal the previous weekend – if you can bring your child to a practise on the mornign of Sunday 5th July. I expect we’ll do this on the grass at the Rec in Bourn.
Then on Saturday 11th, they’ll need to get to the Abbotsley Playing Fields by 3.10pm at the latest.
